English abstract
The study aimed to identify the degree of job stress and its sources among administrative supervisors in the Sultanate of Oman. For achieving the above objectives, the researcher had designed a questionnaire through pratical studies and previour studies consists of which were divided to the following domains: role overload, role ambiguity, job promotion, participation in decision making, communication, job relation, and supervisors personal factors. The study samples have included (78) administrative supervisors. For data analysis, the researcher used arithmetic means, deviations, the relative significance,( T-Test) of independent variables, One-Way ANOVA, and (LSD) for posteriori comparisons. The main results of the study are: 1. The degree of job stress among administrative supervisors in the Sultanate of Oman ranged between high and average. The study showed that role overload and participation in decision making are considered to be the main factors of job stress. Role ambiguity came next, followed by job promotion and later supervisors personal factors. Job relation, on the other hand was one of the least causes of job stress 2. There are significant statistical differences in regard to gender among the response of the study, participants in the category of supervisors personal factors, in the favor of male participants. There were also statistical differences in regard to the educational qualification among the response of the participants of the participants regarding job relationship, and communication in favor of the holders of higher diplomas in administration, and the MAs. Finally, statistical differences in regard to the job area were also found the category of role ambiguity in favor of the Dhofar and Aldhahira region. 3. There are no significant statistical differences between the participants regarding the variable of experience. In conclusion, the analysis of the different results found in this study enlighten us to the different types of job stress sources. In addition the study has reached a number of recommendations, some are related to the supervisors themselves, some to the Directorate of Education and others to the Ministry of Education. The researcher has suggested more researches to be done on the same field.
