English abstract
The study of (Quran Inimitability in the Sight of the Great Scholar Al-Awtabi
Through his Books Al-Deiaa and Al-Ibana) aimed to address the personality of
the Great Scholar Al-Awtabi, his significance among scholars in general, and
specifically among Omani scholars, As well as highlighting the position of Al Awtabi about some inimitability issues that were controversial for scholars of his
era. The study also addressed the types of inimitability Al-Awtabi spoke about in
his books, such as rhetorical inimitability and legislative inimitability. The study
also aimed to conclude the applications of Al-Awtabi to the kinds of inimitability
throughout his books (Al-Ibana Fi Al-Lugha Al-Arabiah) and (Al-Deiaa).
The study depended on the historical approach in terms of investigating Al Awtabi's personality and the precedence of his addressing to Quran inimitability
in comparison with the opinions of the early scholars who addressed the
inimitability. The study also used the inductive approach to study (Al-Ibana Fi
Al-Lugha Al-Arabiah) and (Al-Deiaa) books to Induce the subjects in which Al Awtabi referred or explicitly mentioned Quran inimitability. The analytical
approach was used to analyze the places that do not contain any reference by Al AwtabI About inimitability.
The study concluded some results; the most important of which are as follows:
The great scholar Al-Awtabi used a unique style for Quran interpretation, even
though his literature did not address Quran interpretation directly. He also
addressed various aspects of Quran inimitability. According to Al-Awtabi, the
Quran is inimitable in terms of his wonderful style. The great scholar Ibn
Barakah also agreed to this concept. According to the research conducted by this
researcher, Ibn Barakah and Al-Awtabi were the only two scholars who
addressed Quran Inimitability in the first Ibadi literature. The study also
revealed that the great scholar Al-Awtabi is distinguished by spotting the light
ه
on the rhetorical inimitability in the single word by presenting more than one
meaning for a single word; which can be found a lot in different spots of his two
books. The study also showed that Al-Awtabi was one of the scholars who
contributed to establishing the roots of legislative inimitability.
The researcher recommended to reconsider and conduct further studies for
the literature of Al-Awtabi to discover a more accurate history of the era in
which he lived. The researcher also recommended shedding light on other
aspects of his personality.
