English abstract
Ministry of Education (MoE) is a group of directorates consisting of interrelated departments that are integrated into the business and are considered an entity that supports itself. The MoE supports itself in the field of Information Technology (IT) through the presence of a Directorate whose task is to supervise IT, Programming and Networks. Until recently, MoE activities were not fully automated and did not have databases of large sizes to consolidate itself among the other ministries. Staff records were in the form of hard copies and the information was difficult to access which made the tracking of information a time onsuming process as a result of using the legacy system in MoE. Even today, the ministry has some databases and systems, but they are not interconnected; thus, leading to inconsistencies in the process of managing employees. This thesis makes an attempt to develop a database management system for managing employees of MoE departments. This system provides a unified format for data storage and data tracking. Also, the time is saved with the new system and it reduces the cost of maintaining employees. This thesis provides a broad outline to cover the analysis of the requirements of the
management system and the design methodology. The employee online management system is implemented using Oracle database, version 8i, which the MoE has procured it long time ago. This is just to save the cost of implementations.
