English abstract
This study seeks to investigate effectiveness of a group guidance program in reducing the level of career future anxiety among job seekers in the Sultanate of Oman. The study sample consisted of 30 male and female job seekers: 15 job seekers for the experimental and 15 job seekers for the control group. The experimental group undergone a Group guidance program, while the control group did not receive any processing. The study was based on a semiexperimental approach. The scale of career future anxiety was applied. The scale consisted of (30) phrases. The stability coefficient of the scale was 0.95). The results of the MANCOVA showed that there were statistically significant differences in the post-test between the control group and the experimental group in favor of the experimental group. The results of the two-way ANCOVA showed that there were no differences between male and female in the level of career future anxiety, and there was interaction between gender and group. The results of the ANOVA Repeated Measures of the interrelated groups revealed statistically significant differences between the pre-test and post-test of the experimental group in favor of post-measurement. The results showed no statistically significant differences between the post-measurement and the follow-up measurement, indicating the effectiveness of the program. The results were discussed and interpreted in light of previous research. The study concluded with a set of recommendations and suggestions in the light of these results.
