English abstract
This study aimed to identify the impact of using the interactive whiteboard in prompting the mathematical thinking and the academic achievement or attainment in grade 10 basic in the Sultanate of Oman. The study population was composed of 60 pupils from grade 10 basic, divided into two groups, the experimental group which was composed of 30 students from Jabal Shams for basic education school (1-10) and 30 pupils from Ibrahim Bin Saeed school for basic education (5-10) as a control group. I taught the experimental group using the interactive board while I used the regular way in teaching the control group. The researcher followed the semi experimental curriculum, which includes selecting the experimental design for the two groups. The results showed a statistical indication difference at the level of (ɑ ≤ 0.05) between the average scores of the experimental group students and the control group students derived from the mathematical thinking test and the academic attainment test which gave an advantage to the experimental group.
The study recommended and suggested future studies depending on the current study findings to get benefit of using the interactive board in enhancing student's mathematical thinking and academic achievement in various educational fields.
