English abstract
This study aimed to reveal the relationship between professional identity and aesthetic values among teachers of plastic arts in the Sultanate of Oman in light of a number of gender variables and years of experience. The study sample consisted of (510) male and female teachers from all governorates of the Sultanate of Oman. The researcher used the relational descriptive correlative approach, and to answer the study questions, the researcher used two scales: the first is the professional identity scale (Hao, Niu, Li, Yue, & Liu, 2014) and the second is the aesthetic values scale mentioned in the study (Al-Momani, Alawneh and Al-Fawair, 2017). The results showed that the degree of professional identity among teachers of plastic arts in the Sultanate of Oman was high, and that the arithmetic averages of aesthetic values were very high, and there were statistically significant differences between males and females in the professional identity in favor of females, while there were no significant differences Statistically according to the years of experience variable in all dimensions of professional identity except for the social comparison and self-esteem dimension. The results also showed the presence of statistically significant differences between males and females in aesthetic values in favor of females, as well as the absence of statistically significant differences in aesthetic values according to the variable years of experience. The study concluded that there is a strong positive correlation between each of the professional identity and the aesthetic values of teachers of plastic arts in the Sultanate of Oman. Finally, in light of the discussion of the results, the researcher reached a set of recommendations.
