English abstract
This study aimed to identify the effects of attendance child
victims of abuse to the courts from the view of children themselves,
their families or their companions. In addition, to design a preventive
proposal to alleviate these effects. The preventive proposal was
constructed based on knowledge of these effects.
The study followed the descriptive analytical studies, based on
the approach of the case study as it facilitate the collection of in-depth
data and plan social programs that can solve problems. Data was
collecting using the interview with the available sample of children and
their families or companions from governorates of (Muscat, South,
North AlBatinah).
Study results revealed that the effects appeared in three stages
(before the session, during the session, and after the session) and
categorized into: psychological, physiological, and social effects. These
effects caused by the defect of psychological, social, cognitive
orientation of children, the imbalance in the child's interaction with the
context of the court and the fear of the social stigma. In addition to the
absence of social worker's role in providing support and assistance to
the children and their families.
