English abstract
This study aimed to investigate the relationship of marital adjustment with both self-acceptance and emotional sensitivity among the female teachers of Al Sharqiya North Governorate. The study sample consisted of (665) married teachers. To achieve the objective of the study, the following inventories have been used: First, (Qasim, 2015) scale of marital adjustment. Second, the dimension of self-acceptance from (Carol Ryff) scale of psychological happiness. Third, (Al-Otaibi, 2016) scale of emotional sensitivity. The results showed high levels of marital adjustment and self-acceptance while showing a moderate level of emotional sensitivity. The results also showed no statistically significant differences among marital adjustment, self-acceptance, and emotional sensitivity attributed to the years of marriage variable. The calculations of correlations among variables showed a positive significant relationship between marital adjustment, self-acceptance, and emotional sensitivity. Therefore, regression analysis has been conducted and showed that marital adjustment could be predicted by self-acceptance. This result clarified the direct impact of self-acceptance on the acceptance of others. Therefore, the more accepting is an individual of people around him, the more sound and successful his relation with them will become.
