English abstract
This study aims at investigating the most important element of the novel; the character. Despite the character has an actual and imaginary permanent existence in any narrative work; it has another dimension and an independent structure composed by its distinct limited structural elements, their interaction, and in the built communication present in the parts of the novel.
The character has its very dimensions that turn it into a movable creature: moving the narration, drawing the story, and reviving the narrative existence.
In the potential sections of this study we introduced the character presence as a whole; the structure represented by the relationship between the character and the narrator, by the relationships among characters, the space containing characters' actions and drawn by their interrelationships, and by the signs stemming from the inside of the characters types and acts.
Finally, the results and conclusion of the study were presented. The author hopes that this study adds something new to criticism studies of the Omani literature, in general and the novel in particular.
