English abstract
This study titled - Praise in the poetry of ABU AL SOUFI - aims to expose the features of Praise poetry of the poet ABU AL SOUFI who lived in the fourteenth century HD.
The researcher wanted to expose the experience of the poet in the art of Praise.
The poet confined most of his poetry on the art of praise and commendation to the kings that he was contemporary with and spent his life in serving them .The poet rarely used anything else except praise.
The study began with a short summary about the art of praise in both Arabic and Omani poetry.
The first chapter includes a full and complete definition of the poet and his culture and the age he lived in.
The second chapter contains the directions of the praise and the meanings that were used .Also, it included the features and qualities that the poet used to praise his characters. The third chapter contains the construction of the praiseworthy poem including the beginning, body and conclusion and some patterns of each.
The fourth chapter consists of four themes about the artistical features of the poet's praise which are: the poetic dictionary of the poet, the influence of the heritage of the Arabic and Islamic nation, the poetic imagination and its most important resources and constructions and the poetic music and its artistical importance and how the poet exploited it. The fifth and last chapter of the research contains the most prominent results of this study and an appendix with the most important resources and references.
