English abstract
This Study aimed to identify the role of Omani Universities in promoting peace
culture among students. To achieve the aims of study the descriptive method was
used. A questionnaire was developed with 53 items, distributed to seven domains.
The study was applied on a randomly chosen sample of 1033 from to the population
of study, represented (215) from the faculty, and (818) from the University students.
The statistical package (spss) was used to analyze data the study reached to
many results, and the most important result was: in accordance to the role of
educational institution in domains of Peace Culture got high score in total dimensions,
except for the dimension of Tolerance and non-violence" which got average score. It
also showed the students got high score in total dimensions, except for the first
dimension Tolerance and non-violence" and the third domains faimess and equality
", in fact, the two domains got average score.

The study results also indicated that there was no statistically significant
differences among due to the variables: gender, type of college and the responses
faculty of differences. While there was a statistical significant differences among
response's variable type in favor of females in the total domains, difference except
with the first domains "Tolerance and non-violence". Where results indicated the
significant due to variable social gender difference in this domains. The results showed
a lack of individual significant differences attributable college to variable responses of
students in total domains, except the domains of respect for "life and human beings
and the right of individual", where results showed that there was significant due to the
variable type in this domains and in favor of faculties of humanities differences.
The results also indicated there were statistical significant differences in the
responses of students due to the variable University type for the favor of SQU in the
total domains, except the second domains of "pluralism and acceptance of
difference's". The results indicated that there was not significant due to the variable
University type in this dimension, differences.
