English abstract
Arabic language is known for its omission trait and it has achieved it through its
literary work which is known for its simplistic phrase and precise proof of
subject, hence this study acknowledges the aspect of omission in Abdullah Al-
Khalili's poetry.
For this purpose a descriptive, definitive style used for research method by
determining omissions and its positions for using the evidence that will be used
for indicating the phenomenon that shows the proof of worth for each type of
omission. Also to show the opinions of past scholars in the subject at hand
extracting the most suitable opinions.
The study was divided into three chapters, preceded by an introduction and
followed by a conclusion of the results of the study.
As for the introduction the aspect of linguistic omissions and its abbreviations
was introduced, the reasons, purposes, and conditions of the omissions as
specified by previous linguists.
Then the researcher moved to the practical side of the study where the first
chapter dealt with the aspects of character omissions by using induction
methods in areas of omissions and showed different types of omissions of
vowels, pronouns, al hamza,al lam, prepositions, conditional phrases, question
marks, conditional al faa,and connecting words.
In the second chapter the researcher discussed the aspects of the different
types of omissions regarding the nouns, as she explained its structure when it
comes as a beginning or as an object in nominal clause, subject, object,
adjective and as clauses.
In the third chapter the researcher discussed/covered the omission of the verb
and the sentence so she studied the omission of the verb as an infinitive in the
specified parts of sentences, commands part of sentences, encouragement part
of sentences, and different types of omissions in sentences that came in the
poetry of Abdullah Al-Khalili when it's a conditional clause and the oath
sentence.
At the end of the study the most significant results were reached.
