English abstract
This study aimed to know the relation between internet addiction and
both of depression and, social isolation with Nizwa university student. The
study sample consisted of (346) student, (56) male and (290) female from
first year after foundation to fifth academic year and, from all four university
collages. Study methods included: internet addiction scale prepared by
Ahmed (2007), isolation scale prepared by AL-Mzahara (2002), and "Beck"
list, second Arabized of depression translated by Gharib (2000).
The outcomes resulted that the percentage of internet addiction
diffusion was (4.9%) with the study sample. Also the results indicated to the
differences that have statistic significance within the average of persons
grades of the sample on internet addiction because of social type and study
specialization for female students and, science and arts specialization while
that results did not illustrate differences that have statistic significance

because of GPA and the family financial status .In addition, the results
indicated to negative related relation that has statistic significance between
the average of internet addiction and depression.
Also, the results illustrate positive related relation that has statistic
significance between internet addiction and social isolation with study
sample.
Also, the results illustrate the existence of difference that have statistic
significance between the calculating averages for each depression and
social isolation with study sample individuals because of the difference of
their internet addiction grades. Also the results show that internet addiction
with study sample individuals may forecast of depression and social isolation
and their dimensions but in low way.
