English abstract
This study aims to explore the poetic image as it comprises all technical factors of which a poem is composed. The poetic image can not be seen as a sole factor represented by a metonymy that is mentioned somewhere in the poetic text, nor does it stand as rhetorical simile that takes a narrow space in the text. The poetic image is not a symbol that fills in a narrow gap of the poetic process. Most literary books that we have reviewed as well as books of literary criticism display poetic imagery as simile or metaphor. Image in this context may relate to only one poem or it may relate to a whole poetic collection. This will be further explained in the applied study of this project.
The research thus has achieved an objective formation within the first chapter where the poetic image has been explored throughout Omani as well as Arab books of literary criticism. The outcome has been divided in two parts.
Chapter 2 of this study is designed to studying the visionary image in comparison to poetic imageries of less creative standard. This can be

done through an applied analysis to some poems of the poetic collection entitled "This Night".
Finally, Chapter 3 discusses the relationship of the technical elements of which this poetry is composed with the formation of the poetic image. This relationship could be perceived in the level of one poem or in the direction of the whole poetic collection.
It is to be noticed that the applied study in chapter 2 preferred reading the texts in the light of the theory of acquisition, which gives a wide space for readers to interpret and analyze the text in order for them to achieve what I have called "The Visionary Space" which can not be separated from the concept of the visionary poetic image.
Although readers' freedom of interpreting should be within those given texts, the researcher as well was bound to the signals and symbols of the texts.
A reader of this study will realize that finding a relationship between the poetic texts in order to achieve a vision is not an easy task. But the inspirational poetic language, the facts and different signals of the texts help quite a lot in the reading of a text. Finally, the project confirms that when poetry is deep and well composed relevant to its structural, linguistic, rhyming, significant and constructional elements it will never quit the one and integrated space where such factors will unite and never diverse.
