English abstract
The study aimed at identifying the extent to which Islamic education
textbooks of post-basic education in both academic semesters in Oman,
include healthy concepts related to self-preservation as one of the Islamic
law objectives by answering the following questions:
1. To what extent does the content of the two Islamic education
textbooks of post-basic education in Oman include concepts of healthy
education related to self-preservation?
2. Considering the school grade, how are the concepts of healthy
education of self-preservation distributed according to their frequency
in the content of the two Islamic education textbooks of post-basic
education in Oman
3. Considering the six areas of healthy education, how are the concepts
of healthy education of self-preservation distributed according to their
frequency in the content of the two Islamic education textbooks of
post-basic education in Oman?
To achieve the study aims, the researcher followed the descriptive and
analytical approach, and prepared a list of (37) healthy concepts related to
self-preservation. The validity of the list was verified by presenting it to a
group of (22) arbitrators, and transforming it into an analysis card to reveal
the extent to which the targeted content include those concepts. The stability
was (0.82). After application and data collection, the researcher statistically
analyzed the data, and reached several results, the most important of which
are:
The concept of (social communication) obtained the highest frequency
in the two target approaches.
The Islamic education textbook of the 11th grade contained the largest
number of frequencies compared to the 12th grade.
(Psychological health) was at the first rank among six areas of health
education.
Based on the study findings, it is recommended to focus on concepts that
were less available during the curriculum development, and that concepts of
healthy education related to self-preservation should be included in Islamic
education textbooks for post-basic education. The researcher suggested
conducting a study that aims at identifying the extent to which post-basic
education students acquire the concepts of healthy education included in this
study.
