English abstract
This study aims at suggesting ways to encourage Principles participation in milking the strategic plans for the Ministry of Education in Oman. It also aims to discover the differences which are caused by some job titles and years factors like gender, qualifications, job experiences. of For that the researcher used a questionnaire consists of 63 phrases
divided into two aspects. The first one is about the real principles participation with the Ministry of Education in Oman and its hinders. After making sure of the results. significant and its consistency, the questionnaire was applied on 293 principles and vice principals, male and female in Muscat Governorate, Basic Education Schools. To answer this
questionnaire, the researcher depended on standard deviations and (T) tests to measure the results of the study. The results show that there is a weak level of school principals participations, especially in designing the
strategic plan and an average level in evaluating and following. For the strategic planning average. hinders, they were also The demographic factors revealed that female and male principles have differences in the following up and evaluation. The result was for the female principles and vice principals in applying strategic evaluation and following up.
Recommendations:- School principals and vice principals should effectively participate in planning the Ministry of Education strategy. They should also attend courses to enrich their knowledge in the field of school
administration. School principals should plan, evaluate and achieve these training courses and introduce the strategic plan procedures. Principles should participate effectively and directly in planning the training
programme, applying and evaluating them. Also, they should introduce methods in principals
applying. participating in strategic planning
