English abstract
The current study aimed to predicting grit through cognitive perception
anxiety and academic passion and to identify the levels of each of the three
variables among students of Sultan Qaboos University for the academic year
2022-2023. The study sample consisted of (366) male and female students
from various scientific and human disciplines. They were chosen in an
available way by distributing the scales electronically to all members of the
community. The study tools included three scales: grit scale, cognitive
perception anxiety scale, and academic passion scale. The results showed
the possibility of each academic passion in its dimensions and the dimensions
of cognitive perception anxiety, except for the disability dimension, predicting
events and situations by predicting grit. The results also showed that there
was a medium level of grit among the community members, and a low level of
cognitive perception anxiety, while harmonic passion came with a high level
and compulsive passion came with a medium level.
