English abstract
This study aimed at determining the extent to which Islamic education teachers
employed distance teaching skills and the relevant obstacles under Corona Pandemic
(Covid 19), from both of teachers' and senior teachers' views ,besides identifying the
indications of the differences in the estimates of the individuals in the sample in
light of the examining variables (gender, experience, governorate and job title). The
researcher relied on a descriptive approach, using a questionnaire consisted of (48)
phrases on the basis of five basic focus areas . The study was conducted on (292)
samples of male and female teachers in the Governorates of Muscat and Al
Dakhiliyah.
The outcomes showed that both male and female Islamic education teachers
employ distance teaching skills to a high extent, from both of teachers' and senior
teachers' perspectives . Thus, the arithmetic average of their responses was (3.63).
Likewise, the findings reflected that constraints faced teachers in employing distance
education skills were at a significant level with an average of (3.80).
At the significance level of (0.05), there were no statistically significant
differences among the averages of teachers' responses to the extent of employing
distance teaching skills according to gender variable. At the same significance level,
there were statistically significant differences among those averages owing to the
experience variable in the two aspects of "Using Internet and its tools" and "students
evaluation", whereas; there were no differences in the aspects of "Computer Skills"
and " Educational Platform Use and Management " . Regarding governorate variable,
there were no statistically significant differences among those averages in all the
aspects except for "Educational Platform Use and Management " where significant
differences were observed. Yet there were no statistically significant differences At
the level ( 0.05) among the averages of teachers' responses to the extent of employing
distance teaching skills owing to job title.
In the light of the findings, the researcher recommended the development of
distance teaching skills employed by the teachers and senior teachers and organizing
programs and workshops for teachers aimed at improving the performance of skills
that got average ratings such as "dealing with distance education platforms".
