English abstract
The study aimed to measure the understanding of second field teachers of the nature of science in the North Sharqiyah Governorate. The sample of the study was the second field teachers in the first cycle schools (1-4) in the North Sharqiyah Governorate. To achieve this, the researcher used a questionnaire that measures the understanding of these teachers of the nature of science. Analyzing teachers’ answers to the items of the tool used to collect data and checking validity of the items of the virtual questionnaire and the validity of the internal consistency of the items of the questionnaire was confirmed, and the reliability of the tool was (0.89).
The results showed that there is an understanding among female teachers of the second field about the nature of science in the North Al Sharqiyah Governorate, while the results indicated that there were no statistically significant differences due to the variable of teaching experience, so as a recommendation it is significant to enhance the level of theoretical understanding and guidance and emphasize the importance of exchanging experiences between female teachers especially those experienced ones. As for the nature of science and training teachers of the second field during service, it is recommended to focus on its processes and the steps of the scientific method of thinking, and that the training must be based on practicing not only receiving theoretical backgrounds.
