English abstract
This study aimed to investigate the extent of utilization of artificial intelligence by school administration and its relationship to achieving competitive advantage in government schools in the Sultanate of Oman. The study employed a descriptive correlational methodology, and a questionnaire was used to collect data and information. The questionnaire was administered to a sample of 377 teachers, selected using simple random sampling.
The study revealed several results, including the following: The extent of utilization of artificial intelligence by school administration in government schools in the Sultanate of Oman, as perceived by teachers, was generally moderate. The current study results also showed no statistically significant differences at the significance level (α ≥ 0.05) in the respondents' perceptions regarding the extent of artificial intelligence utilization, considering the study variables of gender, job title, and educational governorate.
Furthermore, the study found that the achievement of competitive advantage in government schools in the Sultanate of Oman, as perceived by teachers, was generally high across all dimensions. The results also indicated no statistically significant differences at the significance level (α ≥ 0.05) in the respondents' perceptions regarding the degree of achieving competitive advantage across all dimensions, considering the study variables of job title and educational governorate. Additionally, the study revealed a statistically significant positive correlation at the significance level (α = 0.01) between the utilization of artificial intelligence by school administration and the degree of achieving competitive advantage in government schools, indicating a strong direct relationship.
Based on the study findings, several recommendations were provided, including: Giving greater attention to the utilization of artificial intelligence in education in general, and specifically by school administration, as it provides greater opportunities for educational institutions to achieve a distinct competitive advantage, Developing and delivering training programs for teachers and administrators on the required skills to apply new artificial intelligence technologies to their current practices.
