English abstract
The Sultanate of Oman has paid great attention to sustainable development plans and strategies and has put laws in front of the development of this development in all its fields for the purpose of providing an appropriate environment for it, whether at the legislative or executive level, research that is compatible and consistent with international legislation, including in particular legislation and laws in protecting the environment and combating pollution. The problem of the study lies in the fact that sustainable development associated with protective environmental legislation is necessary beyond the limits of state sovereignty, and the state must take into account the requirements of preserving the environment from pollution in partnership with international actors from states and organizations to achieve the principle of sustainability. Study methodology The study relied on the qualitative descriptive approach that depends on the content analysis of the basic concepts in law, environmental protection and sustainable development, and in describing the relationship of legal legislation in protecting the environment to promote sustainable development, and using the legal approach to determine the legal and legislative frameworks and rules in environmental protection and sustainable development and their compatibility with Omani legislation and laws.
