English abstract
This study aims to examine the impact of the work environment on
managerial creativity in higher education institutions in the Sultanate of
Oman. It also examines employee perceptions regarding the work
environment and levels of managerial creativity and the relationships
between work environment dimensions and managerial creativity. This
study adopted the descriptive analytical approach and the questionnaire as a
primary tool for data collection. Data were collected from a convenient
sample of 241 employees working in Omani academic institutions.
Findings showed a positive and statistically significant impact of the work
environment on managerial creativity among employees in higher education
institutions. They also showed that the four dimensions of the work
environment (organizational structure, perceived organizational support,
leadership empowerment, and strategic planning) correlated with employees'
managerial creativity. The results also showed that the level of employees'
perceptions regarding the work environment in higher education institutions
in the Sultanate of Oman was average at (81%).
The researcher recommended developing the work environment and
organizing training courses for senior staff and employees to raise their
awareness and skills about the work environment and its impact on
managerial creativity. It was also recommended to allow employees to
express their opinions and involve them in the decision-making and
determining their training needs .
