English abstract
The aimed of this research to identify the role of Civil Society associations in the development of a
citizenship from the point of view of young Omanis associated with them, and to stand on the reality
of its role through the fact, the impact of search variables (gender, age group, academic qualifica tions, and the number of years of affiliation with the professional Association), to reach the results
contribute to the development of proposals for activating the role of the Omani youth.
The researchers designed a questionnaire and this study used descriptive and analytical approach.
Results showed a remarkable increase in the approval of the questionnaire statements and in the
averages of responses about the associations in the development of a culture of responsible citizen ship. They also showed no significant differences at the level of (0.05) attributed to the variables of
the study.
The study suggested a number of recommendations, including: Setting up operational goals to
develop the values of citizenship as part of annual plans for each professional institution specifying
the suitable tools to conduct those plans keeping in consideration the nature of each institution and
its specific roles. The goals should focus on the development of participants' professional skills to
increase the level of productivity which will raise their loyalty to the institution and for the country
as a whole.
In addition to that, the study recommended conducting a series of workshops targeting young
participants to equip them with the skills needed to maintain the national identity and the spirit of
belonging to the country
