English abstract
This paper studies the impact of Incentive and Accommodation on students’ academic performance at A’Sharqiyah University (ASU). ASU has introduced a scheme to reward high achieving students by granting them scholarships. ASU also provides and subsidizes student’s accommodation as well as incentives. The relationship between the provision of accommodation and the students’ academic performance is analyzed The students who were granted with scholarships showed an impact on their academic achievement, their GPA. How the scheme has impacted on their progress and how has helped them maintaining their GPA is also highlighted. For the accommodation part, 230 ASU students were surveyed to understand how university-provided accommodation contributes to the students’ academic performance.
The study shows that providing students with financial incentives and accommodation affects their academic performance positively and significantly at A’ Sharqiyah University.
