English abstract
The royal decrees stipulated Preparing, crystallizing, and formulating the future vision of
Oman 2040 with complete perfection and high accuracy in the light of a broad societal
consensus. In light of considering the vision of Oman 2040 as the gateway to the Sultanate
to cross challenges, keep pace with regional and global changes, and invest in available
opportunities and generate new ones, in order to enhance economic competitiveness, social
welfare, and stimulate growth Confidence in economic, social and development relations
in all governorates of the Sultanate.
International relations are of great importance in serving the policies of the countries that
allow them to interact with the countries of the world. Where the importance of
international relations is usually integrated into long-term international strategies to be
achieved. Accordingly, the Sultanate of Oman pursues linking international relations in
Oman Vision 2040 as one of the most important strategies on which the long-term vision
is based. As an original hypothesis, this research claims, "One of the axes of Oman Vision
2040 is an economy with a competitive structure, which revolves around several sub-axes,
including the private sector, investment, and international cooperation represented in the
term international relations." This research discusses the mechanisms and methods that
enhance the strategies and axes of Oman Vision 2040 for an economy with a competitive
structure by strengthening the role of international relations. The research contains two
main variables, namely, international relations (independent variable) and its role in
promoting the goals and aspirations of Oman Vision 2040 by supporting international
cooperation (dependent variable). The research explores the role and importance of
international relations in its various social, political, economic and other aspects in
promoting the axes and strategies of Oman Vision 2040.
The descriptive qualitative research method was considered the most suitable research
method. Qualitative methods refer to research that relies on qualitative data, also known as
qualitative and descriptive methods, in the form of written or audio notes, opinions, or
reviews, and this type of scientific research method requires the researcher to have the
ability to relate all destinations.
It found that the Sultanate of Oman emphasizes the importance of the private sector,
investment, and international cooperation for the country's long-term development. The
Vision recognizes the private sector as crucial for economic growth and diversification,
aiming to create an environment that fosters entrepreneurship, innovation, and
productivity. Through targeted policies, it seeks to enhance the competitiveness of the
private sector, attract both domestic and foreign investments across various sectors, and
reduce reliance on oil revenues. By promoting sustainable development and creating
employment opportunities, Oman aims to improve the quality of life for its citizens. The
report also highlights the significance of international cooperation in addressing global
challenges and fostering peace and stability. Through collaboration with international
partners, Oman seeks to leverage knowledge and resources to tackle issues like climate
change and social development, contributing to long-term sustainable development and
positioning Oman as an attractive investment destination.
It is recommended in term of Oman Vision 2040; to focus on international relations is
crucial to positioning Oman as a globally competitive nation. Recommendations for
enhancing Oman's international relations include diversifying and strengthening bilateral
relations, actively participating in global institutions. Emphasizing regional integration,
seeking strategic alliances and partnerships, promoting Omani culture and soft power,
strengthening educational and academic cooperation, promoting environmental
sustainability, investing in public diplomacy and communication, prioritizing economic
diplomacy, and enhancing human capital in diplomacy through training and capacity building programs for diplomats and foreign affairs personnel. These efforts will help
Oman increase its global presence, attract foreign investment, and foster strong
partnerships with nations sharing common interests.
