English abstract
Artificial intelligence is one of the most important modern technological innovations, and has wide applications in various industrial, commercial, medical, and scientific fields. The rapid advancement of this technology has increased the need to protect the intellectual property rights of these applications, in order to guarantee the rights of innovators and encourage the innovation movement in various fields. Therefore, this study sheds light on the applications of artificial intelligence, and examines the legal protection provided by international and regional agreements and legislation for these applications. The study also reviews the legal protection that the Omani legislator has given to intellectual property rights, and the effectiveness and sufficiency of the legal provisions in Omani legislation in providing the necessary degree of protection for these smart applications. The research concluded with a set of results and recommendations, most notably the need to update Omani legislation to keep pace with rapid technological developments in the field of artificial intelligence, and to provide clear standards for evaluating innovations related to artificial intelligence. The research also recommended training legal cadres, enhancing international cooperation, and providing incentives for innovators and start-ups in this field.
