English abstract
The objective of this study is to identify the attitudes of job seekers from the Special Economic Zone in Duqm towards vocational training and its relationship to their professional motivation.
To achieve the objective of the current study, the researcher used the descriptive approach and the correlational approach to prepare the study, in addition to that using 2 scales to collect data from the study sample and they are the scale of the attitudes towards vocational training and the scale of professional motivation. The sample of the current study consisted of sample of (234) individuals from job seekers from the people of the Special Economic Zone in Duqm who are at working age, those with positive and negative attitudes towards vocational training. The questionnaires were distributed to the sample members via text messages, in coordination with the relevant work entity. Using the Statistical Package for Social Studies (SPSS), the data were analyzed.
The results of the study showed the following: There is a strong positive relationship with
statistical significance between the vocational training attitudes of individuals with positive
attitudes and the level of professional motivation. The value of the Pearson correlation coefficient
was 0.628. The results also showed that there is a very weak, statistically significant correlation between the vocational training attitudes of individuals with negative attitudes and the level of professional motivation. The value of the Pearson correlation coefficient was 0.181. The results
also revealed that there were no statistically significant differences in attitudes toward vocational
training and the level of professional motivation among members of the study sample due to demographic characteristics (gender, age, educational qualification, professional specialization). In light of these results, the researcher recommended the following recommendations: Implementing comprehensive vocational guidance programs so that participants understand the potential career paths and opportunities that a person can obtain as a result of vocational training. Officials in the Special Economic Zone in Duqm strengthen cooperation with employers to ensure
that vocational training programs are compatible with the needs of the industry and the labor market. Establishing a system for continuous monitoring and evaluation of vocational training programs to evaluate their effectiveness.
