English abstract
The study aimed to identify the components of the sports tourism industry in light of the Kingdom of Bahrain Vision 2030. To achieve these objectives, the researcher adopted the descriptive approach due to its suitability for this type of study, as data was collected using a questionnaire tool, which was applied to (267) employees in the Ministry of Tourism, the Ministry of Finance and National Economy, the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, the General Sports Authority, the Bahrain Olympic Committee, and sports federations in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
The study reached a set of results, the most prominent of which was that there are components for the sports tourism industry in light of the Kingdom of Bahrain Vision 2030, including (natural components, human components, material components, and financial components). There are many challenges facing the sports tourism industry in Bahrain, including the lack of a clear vision for the industry, and the absence of organizational structures or committees to supervise its implementation. The future prospects for sports tourism include job creation, diversifying national income sources, attracting foreign investments, developing infrastructure, promoting sports media, and achieving a sustainable legacy for the sports tourism industry.
The study concluded with several recommendations, including the need for optimal investment in the available components, diversification of sports tourism types, forming joint committees between the sports and tourism sectors to address challenges, and establishing organizational structures to supervise the sports tourism industry in Bahrain.
