English abstract
The statute of limitations is one of the reasons for the expiry of the public action, and the Omani legislator has stipulated in the Criminal Procedures Law the statute of limitations periods and how they apply. It has shown that the statute of limitations periods begin to be calculated from the date of committing the crime, except for the crimes of employees stipulated in Articles (155) to (166) of the Penal Code; the period begins from the date of the employee’s termination of service or the loss of his status.
