English abstract
This descriptive bibliometric study aimed to identify the trends of Master's theses in learning disabilities at Sultan Qaboos University (SQU) during the period 2012 to 2023. The study sample consisted of 60 Master's theses approved by the Deanship of Graduate Studies and the Department of Psychology at SQU, Oman. To achieve the study objectives, a content analysis card was developed to identify research trends in Master's theses. The results showed that training programs and instruction strategies were the most targeted topics in these theses. These theses addressed both developmental and academic learning disabilities. Mixed samples of males and females were adopted, and students and teachers constituted the vast majority of these samples. The basic education stage at government schools in Muscat was the most targeted by the researchers. The results also showed that the vast majority of theses followed the descriptive quantitative approach, and tests, scales, and questionnaires were the most used research instruments. The study recommended constructing a database for Master's theses in learning disabilities and preparing a research map to determine national research priorities and future research trends in the field of learning disabilities.
