English abstract
The current study aimed to identify both the orientation towards
religious commitment and psychological reassurance among the study
sample members. The study sample consisted of (417) students of Al
Sharqiyah University in the Sultanate of Oman, during the academic year
2023/2024 AD. The researcher adopted the descriptive correlational
approach in this study, and used two scales: the Orientation Towards
Religious Commitment Scale prepared by Barakat (2006), and the
Psychological Reassurance Scale prepared by Al-Khazraji (2006).
The results of the study showed that the level of orientation towards
religious commitment and psychological reassurance is generally high
among the study sample members. The results showed that the orientation
towards religious commitment can contribute significantly to predicting the
psychological reassurance of the sample members. The results also showed
that there were no statistically significant differences in the level of
orientation towards religious commitment attributed to the gender variable,
and there were statistically significant differences in the level of orientation
towards religious commitment in each of the academic qualification in
favor of master's students, age in favor of the category (40 years and
above), and job in favor of employees. There were also statistically
significant differences in the level of psychological reassurance in each of
the gender in favor of males, age in favor of the category (40 years and
above), and job in favor of employees. There were no statistically
significant differences in the level of psychological reassurance attributed
to the academic qualification variable. The study recommended including
religious guidance among the guidance services provided to students
because of its relationship to predicting psychological reassurance,
enhancing interest in the religious aspects of university students and
maintaining the mechanisms used in religious awareness for students, as

well as enhancing interest in the psychological health of students in
universities by maintaining the level of spreading psychological culture for
students and providing guidance services to them.
