English abstract
The study aimed at detection of The degree of using social studies teachers in
South Al Batinah Governorate of the interactive whiteboard and their level of self-
efficacy towards it, and to the knowledge of the effect of tybe variables of
experience on the degree of use and self-efficacy.
To answer the study questions the student has used descriptive and survey
approach and he prepared the research of two tools first one questionnaire about
the of using social studies teachers of the interactive whiteboard, and the second
tool detection scale about of self-efficacy. The researcher arbitrated these tools
and applied them to an exploratory sample of social studies teachers to calculate
the validity and reliability coefficients.
The study population consisted of all male and female teachers who teach the
subject of social studies for grades (5-12), who work in government schools
affiliated to the Ministry of Education in the Governorate of South Al-Batinah in the
second semester of the academic year (2019-2020 AD) and their number is (451)
teachers. As for the study sample, it consisted of (172) male and female social
studies teachers, i.e. 38% of the total study population, and it was chosen
randomly To answer the study questions, the researcher used arithmetic
averages, standard deviations, percentages, (t) test, mono test, and Pearson
correlation coefficient.
The results of the study showed that the degree of social studies teachers' use of
the interactive whiteboard in Al Batinah South Governorate is average (2.60). The
results also showed that the level of self-efficacy of social studies teachers on
using the interactive whiteboard is average (2.66). It also showed that there is a
positive correlation between the degree of social studies teachers' use of the
interactive whiteboard and their self-efficacy towards it, as the value of the
correlation coefficient was (706), according to Pearson scale. There were no
statistically significant differences in the degree of using the interactive whiteboard
due to years of experience and type. The results also showed that there were no
statistically significant differences in the level of self-efficacy due to years of
experience and gender.
The study recommended organizing in-service training courses for social studies
teachers on using the interactive whiteboard, and providing them with educational
bags and booklets that serve to use the interactive whiteboard in the educational
process.
