English abstract
The current study aimed to know the impact of the use of portable body cameras on
the efficiency of policemen, and to identify the
pros and cons of using portable body cameras,
as well as to indicate the importance of policemen use of body cameras, and to clarify the
methodology used to evaluate the use of portable body cameras and reveal how to confront
.illegal use
The descriptive analytical method was used,
due to its suitability to achieve the objectives
of the study. The study reached several results,
the most important of which is that the use of
cameras leads to the consolidation of the relationship between policemen and citizens, and
it is an effective way to detect crimes, and it is
an effective mechanism to ensure the optimal
.application of the law
The study concluded with a number of recommendations, including the adoption by the
Royal Oman Police to provide its members
with portable and body-mounted surveillance
cameras while carrying out their field work,
training the ROP men to use portable cameras, a technician to help them facilitate their job
tasks, and the development of a modern legislative system that regulates the use of cameras.
