English abstract
This study aimed to identify the quality standards which are required in the performance of the Islamic Education teachers and to have an awarness of such standards' availability in the Islamic Education field for the teachers of the Islamic Education at the Sultanate of Oman form the point of view of the Educational advisors and the Senior teachers. The sample of the study consisted of (109) male and female senior teachers and (39) male and female supervisors from the governorate of Muscat, AL Batinah North, AL Batinah South and AL Sharqia North for the year 2011/2012. The researcher used a questionnaire consisted of (42) standards distributed at four main axes: (quality standards relating to personal characteristics, quality standards related to scientific characteristics, quality standards related to educational (professional) characteristics and quality standards related to social characteristics). The axes were ratified by a group of arbitrators and measuring their consistency by using the (Alpha kronbakh) equation after applying it on a sample of (30) male and female supervisors and male and female senior teachers without involving the sample study. The consistency rate stability reached (0,91). The study found that the overall standards of quality in the performance of Islamic Education teachers were moderately available at a median of (2,20). The results showed a statistically differences at the level of (0,05 a) in the view of the supervisors and the senior teachers for showing the availability of the quality standards of the Islamic Education teachers which due to the type variable for the benefit of the females, and there were statistical differences at the level of (0,05 a) due to the profession variable to benefit the senior teachers, Other showed statistical differences at the level of (0,05 a) due to the experience variable at the fourth axes. In the overall total of the axes for those who gain an experience ranging from (5-10) years, from (11 years) and up and for benefit of those who have an experience from (5-10) years. In the light of the results the researcher recommends to benefit from the overall quality standards on evaluating the performance of the Islamic Education teachers and developing it at cycle two of the Basic Education and post Basic Education cycles as well.
