English abstract
The Effects of Current Accounts in Pursuance with Rules of Oman's Commercial Law Current account is regarded as one of the main and widely spread banking operations in the modern day of banking services. This type of banking operation provides customers from the merchant segment and others with quick, safe and convenient services with the avoidance of any risks involved with funds being lost or stoler besides facilitating the task of easy transfer of funds between different account holders and those dealing with them,
Dealings connected with current account have spread widely because of the benefits it offers to account holders and others dealing with them. As a result, it has been universally accepted, especially at a time when commercial activities and related requirements and needs have expanded.
In view of this type of banking service being new, some difficulties have emerged with regard to the implementation of certain legal regulations. In order to understand the effects of such banking activity, I have briefly touched in the preliminary chapter of this thesis on the concept of the current account and its features and terms, earmarking the larger part of the thesis, which is the subject of research and study, to the effect of the current account contract and have earmarked that in the first chapter. In the second chapter, I have dealt with the effects of closure and bankruptcy in the current account and the ways and means of stopping/putting an end to that, especially if such closure comes willingly from one party to such an account without the intervention of the other party due to circumstances beyond the control of one of the parties. I have also touched on the subject of the effect of such termination on interest, and mentioned the existence of cases in which the account is closed down with the implied willingness of either party provided that the bank refuses to accept any new payments or any dealings without any authorization for closure.
I have also looked into means for correcting errors in the account which occur during the process of adverse posting. I concluded the thesis by citing some recommendations and suggestions to help find appropriate solutions to the problems and obstacles that I had encountered while preparing this thesis of mine.
