English abstract
The study aimed at identifying the impact of the guided imagery strategy on grade eleven female students' achievement in Islamic subject and their attitudes towards the strategy. The sample of the study consisted of (65) students distributed between two groups: an experimental group consisted of (32) students and a control group consisted of (33) students.
In order to achieve the objectives of the study, asemi-curriculum was used for piloting , an achievement test was designed which consisted of (30) questions. The validity of the test was checked by a group of judges. The reliability of the test was (0.81). A guided imaginary scale was also designed and it consisted of (24) items. A group of judges checked its validity and its reliability was (0.72). The researcher also designed a guide booklet consisted of 5 introductory scenarios and 8 main scenarios. To answer the research questions, means, standard deviation and t-test were used.
The results revealed a statistically significant difference at (a=0.05) between the means of experimental and control groups in the pre and post tests for the favor of the experimental group. Besides the students showed a positive attitude towards the guided imaginary strategy.
The study recommended using the guided imagery strategy in teaching Islamic subject as it proofed to be effective in improving students' achievement. It also recommended training Islamic subject teachers in designing imagery scenarios and use them in teaching Islamic subject.
