English abstract
This project examines three different types of methods of estimating fertility by using two data types, Births Last year (BLY) and Date of Last Births (DLB). The data was provided from the ministry of health by the world health survey 2008.
These estimates are considered for the demographic variables residence, education level, contraceptive use and governorate. Fertility rates which are estimated by using the BLY are less than the rates estimated by using the DLB for the three estimation methods. The effect of the demographic variables considered on the fertility rates were significant. The total fertility rate is approximately 6.34 births per women in her life time for the year 2008.
