English abstract
This research is a comparative and analysis study of the potteries discovered in Umm an-Nar Settlement, Dahwa site in the Wilayat of Saham during the archaeological excavation works from 2013 to 2017.
The study aims to identify the types, shapes and sources of the potteries unearthed in Dahwa site (DHI) as well as shedding light on the role and importance of Dahwa site during Umm an-Nar period.
The study uses the descriptive analytical approach to classify and categorize the potteries and document these precious archaeological findings through drawing and photography. Moreover, a comparison was conducted between select potteries and other similar pieces that date back to the same period.
The study comprises an introduction, six chapters that discuss the different thematic issues of the study and a catalogue depicting and describing the select pottery collections in addition to the drawings and photos of the pieces covered with this study.
Chapter-I contains a general introduction, Chapter-II highlights the Umm an-Nar period in the Omani Peninsula, Chapter-III is a discussing the pottery of Umm an-Nar, while Chapter-IV is devoted to the Dahwa site (DHL) and its history while Chapter-V discusses the potteries of Dahwa settlement and its classification and Chapter-VI reviews and discusses the findings of this study.
