English abstract
The study aimed to design computer software to develop some prosody Skills of Arabic Language Students In Sultan Qaboos University by audio discrimination, and test their effect on acquire those Skills. To achieve this, the researcher designed a software for the development of Four Skills are: writing prosody, discrimination between the stanzas, discrimination between the Dactyls and discovery of the prosody mistake. To investigate the effect of computer software on the development of specific Skills, the researcher applied on the 15 students in College of Education, Literature and Social Sciences, representing half of the study sample consisting of 30 students studying Arabic Prosody Course in spring 2008 divided into two groups, experimental and control. At the end of the experiment were tested groups in specific skills in computer software. The results revealed the existence of significant statistical differences between the two groups for sake of the experimental group; which demonstrated the effect of software designed to develop the skills of the students targeted.
