English abstract
The current study aimed to stand at the level of legal awareness among the occupants of supervisory positions in the Ministry of Education in the Sultanate of Oman, and determine the differences according to the different variables of the study; gender, educational qualification, job title, years of experience, and the nature of the work of the Departmant. Finally, the researcher provided some suggested procedures to increase the level of legal awareness among employees of the Ministry of Education in the Sultanate of Oman.
To achieve the objectives of the study, the study followed a descriptive approach and the tool of the study designed in a form of a test, derived its content from the law of Civil Service in the Sultanate and its executive regulations. The study sample consisted of (214) employees amongst; Directors of supervision Departments, Assistant Directors, and Chairmen of departments in some educational regions and districts in the Sultanate.
The statistical data was treated using the SPSS program. The study indicated that the level of legal awareness among occupants of supervisory jobs in the Ministry of Education was medium. With regard to the variables of the study, it is found that there are no statistically significant differences at the level of significance (0.05) between the answers of the sample due to gender, qualification and years of experience. Whereas, the study showed that there are significant differences at the level of significance (05, 0) between the answers of the sample due to the variable of the Job title and the nature of the work of the department for administrative departments.
In the light of the study results, the researcher suggested adopting testing as one of the standards for selecting employees for supervisory and administrative jobs.
