English abstract
This study aims to shed light on the historical roots of Russia's interest in the Arab Gulf
region as a geographical region of great importance, and the methods that have been taken
for this, highlighting the processes and methods of the entry of Soviet influence into the
Arab Gulf region after World War II. The study also aims to trace the stages of the
penetration and growth of communist thought, the establishment of organizations and
movements that adopted this ideological trend in the Arab Gulf, their impact on many
political events in the region, and the role of the Soviet Union in that. The study is
concerned with focusing on the expansion of the Soviet Union's relations with the
countries of the Arab Gulf region by addressing the Soviet Union's interest in a number
of political issues related to the region and its nearby regions, and the British and
American attempts to repel and prevent this interference. The study also aims to clarify
the methods and stages of development of diplomatic, commercial and cultural relations
between the Soviet Union and the countries of the Cooperation Council for the Arab Gulf
States during the stage covered by the study, and the position of Britain and the United
States of America on that.
In this study, the researcher followed the descriptive historical method, which was
employed to derive historical facts and talk about all aspects addressed by the study, and
the analytical method that was used in analyzing documents and texts information, and
comparing them to access information related to the subject of the study.
The study was divided into an introduction, four chapters and a conclusion. In the
preface it dealt with the Russian entry into the Arab Gulf region during the period from
1880 to 1939 AD, and the first chapter focused on the penetration of Soviet influence in
the Arab Gulf region during the period from 1945-1957 AD, and in the second chapter the
issue of the growing of the Communist ideological trend in the Arab Gulf region between
1957 - 1965 AD and the effect it caused on the societies in which it spread. The third
chapter dealt with the issue of the expansion of the Soviet Union's relations with the
countries of the region during the period from 1961 to 1979 AD. Through its participation
in some political issues of its own, and in the fourth chapter the variables in the strategy
were discussed. The Soviet Union towards the Arabian Gulf from 1981 AD until 1990.
The study reached a number of results, including: The study confirmed that the Cold
War that followed the Second World War was a period of prominent competition between
the Soviet Union and the United States of America, and the Arab Gulf region was one of
the focal points targeted by these two poles, and the study revealed that the Communist
ideological trend was an important means of The means of the Soviet Union to penetrate
the region and reach it by providing moral and material support, and the study showed
that the Soviet Union took its positions on a number of issues related to the region, such
