English abstract
The subject of this dissertation: the movement of the common words of Arab Civilization from
"Al-Jaahez's book" Al Bayaan wa al Tabyeen to Ibn Abd Rabbih's book "Al- Iqd Al-Farid the Unique
Necklace" in the light of in Semantic Field theory, we used the comparative methods which it is
based upon the description and analysis, its importance in following the aspects of semantic
progression for "al faz al hadara (words of civilization) from "Al- Jaahez's book, Al Bayan to Ibn
Abd Rabbih's book's Necklace" in its lexical meaning of the East? Or it has witnesses semantic
development? What are the aspect of its semantic development? And what are the semantic
fields?
We established our paper upon the following objectives:
- To monitor the common words of Arab Civilization between Al-Jaahez and Ibn Abd
Rabbih.
- To classify the common words of Arab Civilization between Al-Jaahez and Ibn Abd Rabbih
according to its semantic fields.
- Explain the type of semantic progression that occurred in words of Arab civilization upon
its drift from Al Bayan to Al Iqd (the necklace).
- Try to visualize the nature of the civil relationship between east and west through" al faz
al hadara (words of civilization) between Al-Jaahez and Ibn Abd Rabbih.
The study tries hard to achieve its object through five chapters as the following:
- Chapter One: semantic Fields of semantic words for houses, palaces and its associates.
- Chapter Two: semantic Fields of semantic words to the information, beverages, and its
contents.
- Chapter Three: semantic Fields of words that indicating the garments and its items.
- Chapter Four: Semantic Fields for words that indicating means of life of the human being.
- Chapter Five: Semantic Filed for words indicating to armed forces, wars, weapons and its
contents.
The study concluded with findings, the most important one:
There is some intersections in words of Arab Civilization that common between Al-Jaahez
and Ibn Abd Rabbih, and these are natural intersections, as the Andalusia Civilization, in
its commencement depended upon the orient civilization intellectually and physically, but
these words have a semantic development in expansion and transmission, and distress
in significance as a result of scientific progress, and urban characteristic of Andalusia in
that area.
