English abstract
The study aimed at examining the effectiveness of CORT I program and it's interaction with achievement in developing creative thinking abilities (fluency, flexibility and originality) among 10th grade female students in Oman. The study sample consisted of 69 students from Hail Al- Awamer Female General Education School (10-12) in Muscat region (the experimental group= 35, the control group= 34). Verbal and figural Torrance Test of Creative Thinking Forms A and B were used as pre-tests and post-tests along with Raven Standard Progressive Matrices which . was used to ascertain the equality of the two groups on general intelligence level. Two-way ANCOVA was used for each of the three abilities and the total ability as dependent variables. The results indicated that there were statistically significant differences in fluency, flexibility and total ability in favor of the experimental group. The interaction of the program with the achievement was also significant but in the total creativity score only. Recommendations and suggestions have been provided
