English abstract
The aim of this study was to Develop Strategic Planning Practices for the Employees of the General Directorate for Planning and Quality Control in the Ministry of Education in Oman in Views of their Training Needs.
To achieve the objectives of the study, the researcher used the descriptive method in her study and used a questionnaire as a tool for her study. It consisted of (61) phrases The sample of the study consisted of (150) employees of the General Directorate for Planning and Quality Control in the Ministry of Education in Oman and their counterparts from planning departments end educational needs in the Sultanate's governorates.
After processing the data statistically using the (SPSS) Statistical Package of Social Sciences, the results showed that the reality practices of strategic planning to the employees of the General Directorate for Planning and Quality Control came at the middle average. The needs of the employees of the General Directorate for Planning and Quality Control to practice strategic planning came at the high level and from these needs: identify and priorities the status of the plan, use modern technology to document procedures, processes, strategies and strategic plan and configuration an effective communication system for exchanging data between the internal and external environment of the General Directorate for Planning and Quality Control.
In light of the results, the researcher recommended several recommendations such as: The directorate General of Planning and Quality Control is required to spread the culture of strategic planning and clarify its scientific bases, create a new department specialized in the strategic planning of the directorate, the allocation of a formal budget help in achieving the strategic planning process, training the staff of the General Directorate for Planning and Quality Control with the steps of practices of strategic planning and encouraging the employees of the General Directorate morally and materially for the purpose of stimulating their motivation and motivating them to practice strategic planning.
