English abstract
The tribe represents one of the components of the Omani society socially and politically. It has been an active and influential politically in various historical events experienced by Oman. This study highlights the impact of the tribe in the Omani political life. It's divided into four chapters with introduction and conclusion. The introduction represents the combination of Omani geography, and the politicalsituation and tribal in that period. The first chapter discusses the nature of the Omani tribes and the roots of the split tribal. The second chapter focuses on the relationship between Tribes and al Bu said rulers, and revolutions tribal emerged against those rulers. The third chapter shows the relationship of the tribe with Imamate in attempts to revive the s Imam in the era of Sd Said bin Sultan and Sultan Turki bin Said. The fourth chapter represents the British interference in Omani internal situation politically and economically, The study relied to a number of historical sources relevant to that period of time including historical documents which record it' accurately. Thestudy found several of important result: 1- The study reveals the tribal division in Oman, and the power of the tribes according to ownership of the land, building forts, and tribal alliances. 2- The study reveals the contribution tribes especially al-Ghafiriyah in the face of Sd Qais bin Imam Ahmed who aspires to shift his nephews from the throne, as well as the contribution of these tribes in the arrival of Sultan. Turki in 1287/1871. 3. The study showed the failure of Imam Azzan bin Qais in dealing with the tribes. 4- The study highlights the position of Omani tribes to the British existence in Omani life politically and economically that leads to a in revolution against the British.
