English abstract
This study aims at identifying inclusion of human values in social studies textbooks at Institutes of Islamic Sciences, Sultanate of Oman. An analysis card of human values was developed including (32 values) distributed into three dimensions: political, economic and social. The analysis card validity was examined by panel of judges. The study sample consisted of (10 books).
The results of the study showed that the human values was included( 5005). The study revealed that the political values obtained the highest frequency (2584) at a percentage of 52%, followed by the economic values (1312) at a percentage of 26% and lastly the economic values (1109) at 22%.
The inclusion of human values was varied among the different grades; grade eleven had high percentage of inclusion ({41%), followed by grade twelve (39%), and thirdly grade ten (20 %).
The results also showed that some values such as political participation, enabling woman, respecting minorities, saving, considering people of special needs, and respecting the community's remarkable people obtained the least frequencies compared to the other values.
The study recommends necessarily doubling the least frequent values and taking into consideration equivalent inclusion of values among the different grades when writing books of social studies.
