English abstract
The study aimed to investigate the effectiveness of graph program in teaching quadratic functions on the academic achievement and visual thinking among grade 10th basic education female students in The Sultanate of Oman. To attain this objective, study tools were prepared which includes teaching material (Teachers Guide) and academic achievement visual thinking test. The study consisted of (56) female students. The sample was divided into two groups, an experimental group (N=28) which was taught by the graph program and a control group (N=28) which was taught by the conventional method of teaching. The results showed that there were statistically significant differences at(a <0.05) between students' scores in both the visual thinking test and the academic achievement test to the experimental group. In addition, the results showed that there was a positive correlation between academic achievement and visual thinking at the level (a <0.01) with coefficient of correlation (0.723). According to the obtained results, some recommendations and suggestions were made.
