English abstract
The present study aimed to investigate the degree of availability of linguistic intelligence indicators in the linguistic activities of reading lessons in the Arabic language textbook for the seventh grade in the Sultanate of Oman.
This is done through answering the following questions: Q1: What are the indicators of linguistic intelligence that should be taken into account in the linguistic activities of reading lessons in the Arabic language text book for the seventh grade of the Sultanate of Oman? Q2: To what extent do the linguistic intelligence indicators exist in the linguistic activities of reading lessons for the seventh grade of the Sultanate of Oman?
In order to answer these questions, the researcher used an analysis card, which created from the indicators of linguistic intelligence that should be taken into account in the activities of reading lessons in the seventh grade and analyzed in the light of the card all the activities of the reading lessons in the textbook of the seventh grade in the first and second part, which were (272) activities.
The results of the study showed that were a significant availability of language intelligence indicators in the reading activities. The enhancement of the verbal inventory of words had the highest percentage 38%, followed by the "promotion of the linguistic tasting side" "37%", which is a similar ratio indicating the prevalence of such activities is higher than others, followed by the "promotion of the skills of the dialogue and speech" "25%". While there was no indicator of "promotion Enjoy language activities", which indicates the lack of language games in reading activities for the seventh grade textbook. The study recommends a set of recommendations, like;
1. Developing the activities of the Arabic language textbook for the seventh grade, especially the reading activities and treat the deficiencies of linguistic intelligence indicators revealed by the results of this study, especially in enjoyment of language activities indicator.
2. Review the scope and sequence, and include the linguistic intelligence indicators in the objectives of reading for the seventh grade in a systematic manner.
