English abstract
The study aimed to examine the effectiveness of scamper questions strategy on developing creative reading skills among grade six females' students in the Sultanate of Oman. To do so, the researcher has designed guide to develop these skills using foregoing strategy, a list of creative reading skills and creative reading skills test. Those tools, the list and the test were provided to a group of specialized arbitrators to evaluate it and the consistency was checked using alpha coefficient which scores (72.2).
The sample of study was divided in two groups, experimental group, including (30) female students, who were taught by using Scamper Questions Strategy during reading classes and control group were taught by using the conventional approach. After the experiment, both groups were given the creative reading skills test.
The results revealed that there were statistically significant differences at (<0.05) between the mean scores of the two groups which can be attributed to the teaching method, however the results showed that the experimental group outperformed the controlled group in fluency, flexibility and authenticity skills.
Based on these results, the researcher recommends the essential necessity to benefit from using Scamper Questions in teaching reading to provide fertile environment, that the linguistic fluency may improve positive reflection on the level of females' students as well as urges the females' students to develop the creative reading skills through focusing on the enrichment reading to increase their vocabulary and to use the scamper questions strategy to develop the creative reading skills among the other females' students classes, first, second classes as well as for those above the basic grade.
