English abstract
This study pursued is an attempt to follow up the Arabic and Islamic dimensions in the modern Omani poetry in the twentieth century through the disclosure of the most important issues and matters that this poetry dealt with. Through knowing the most important sorrow and pains that worried the Arab and Muslim human being extending to many centuries, the twentieth century in particular. The most important of these issues were the Portugues invasion and the Persian occupation of the Arab and Islamic lands, before the time of this study. The European colonization of the Arab lands and the Zionist occupation of Palestine in the twentieth century. This study could make clear the interaction of the Omani Poet with these issues extending to fifteen centuries. The Poet and the verse proved supporting permanently and continuously the right and justice every time and every place. The researcher faced some difficulties during his research. From these, the variety of the basic resources of study between printed and manuscript. When getting the printed was possible, after exerting all efforts to get it, the manuscript formed real difficulty. It was because of spreading all over Oman and being available in private libraries or owned by certain individuals. Getting information about this subject required extraordinary effort for exploration and research. The researcher couldn't have left this issue; otherwise there would have been clear shortage in the information of this thesis and the pillar that it was based on. We reffered to different subjects of the research to the manuscript. The study included two researches, four chapters and a conclusion. The first research included a speech about the Omani concept of nationalism. It was proved, with out any doubt, that the Oman is have a distinctive concept and they were different from others. That concept combines nationalism with Islam and formed them in one unit to make a noble aim and a sublime meaning which supports each other, The second introductory research came with dealing the Arabic and Islamic dimension in the Omani verse, before the time of study; before the twentieth century. I talked about the interaction of the Omani poet with the Arabic and Islamic issues of the nation. I referred to the heroic role that the Omanis made to liberate the Arab and Islamic lands from the invaders before nine and a half centuries. Concerning the chapters: the first chapter was a study about the interaction of the poets living a broad in Africa with the Arab and Muslim issues over more than a half century. This was through three prominent poets such as Abu Muslim Al-Bahlani, Suleiman Al-Absi and Saleh Al-Khalasi. The second chapter was about the most important public issues that the Omani poets dealt with in the modern century, which was represented in the following: 1. Supporting the Arab and Islamic issues. 2. Disrespect the colonizers 3. Elegy for dignitaries and struggling Arab and Muslim leaders. 4. Awakening and urging. 5. National blame. In the third chapter I talked about some Arab causes such as Algeria, Egypt, Lebanon, Libya, Tunisia, Yemen, Iraq and Palestine, and some Islamic issues such as Jerusalem, Iraq – Iran war, Afghanistan and Zanzibar. I devoted the last chapter for talking about the most important sides and technical phenomena in the extracted texts such as symbol, image repetition, recalling heritable personalities, quotation, implication and modernization the rhythm of verse. - The study concluded some results we sum them up in the following: 1. The Omani concept of naționalism combines Arabism with Islam to form one integrated and harmonic tissue. 2. The Omani poet interacted with the issues of the Arab and Islamic nation since early times due to the first Hijri centuries. 3. Supporting the right was a characteristic of the Omanis since the early times. They don't give it up under any circumstances. The Omani verse with national and Islamic dimensions is not all enthusiastic and elocutionary, on the contrary, we found a lot of meaning, images, imagination, symbols, similes and others from technical phenomena. The study pointed out some sides of modernization in rhythm for a number of the modern Omani poets such as Suleiman Al-Absi, Abdullah Al-Taie, Saida bint Khater, Said Al-Saqlolwi, Saleh Al-Fahdi and Bader Al-Shibani. They expressed about movement of the development of the modern Arab poetry. This refers to their benefit from this movement, observing and interacting with it. The necessity of taking care of a lot of unseen poetry so far in terms of printing and publishing it to have a complete image of the modern Omani poetry through publishing all the poet's work. 7. This study paved the way to other studies in which the movement of the verse in Oman still needs, such as the technical study of rhythm of this poetry. The modernization phenomena in it and the issue of prose and the view point of critics from it. This is the task of other researchers who will exert their efforts to achieve it.
